Jack’s paternal grandfather was named Thomas Patrick O’Connell.

Jack’s maternal grandfather was Kenneth Harold “Ken” Gutteridge (the son of John William Edward Gutteridge and Annie Goode). Kenneth was born in Derby, Derbyshire, England, and was a footballer for, and later manager of, Burton Albion FC. John was the son of John William Gutteridge and Henrietta Critchley. Annie was the daughter of William Goode and Mary Hand.
