Photos Show What Michelle Wie Wore During Rudy Giuliani Encounter

July 2024 · 3 minute read

Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani sparked outrage this past week for a story he told about golfer Michelle Wie.

During an appearance on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast this past Thursday, Giuliani decided to reminisce about recently departed conservative talk radio host, Rush Limbaugh.

The story Giuliani ultimately chose to tell involved him and Limbaugh out golfing, with the latter party being frustrated by paparazzi following them around.

Per Giuliani’s retelling, it was not the conservative duo the paparazzi were interested in.

“On the green is Michele Wie, and she is getting ready to putt,” Giuliani said. “Now Michelle Wie is gorgeous. She’s 6 feet. And she has a strange putting stance. She bends all the way over. And her panties show. And the press was going crazy. … I said ‘[Rush], it’s not me, it’s not you [the paparazzi is interested in].'”

Naturally, the idea of Giuliani and others looking up her skirt didn’t sit well with Wie.

On Friday, she took to Twitter to address the situation.

“What this person should have remembered from that day was the fact that I shot 64 and beat every male golfer in the field leading our team to victory,” she wrote.

“I shudder thinking he was smiling to my face and complimenting my game while objectifying me and referencing my ‘panties’ behind my back all day.”

What makes the story all the odder is that photos exist of that fateful day.

Is there anything particularly provocative about Wie’s attire? Objectively not. It’s no different than any other female golf outfit out there. That’s not to say that even if Wie’s outfit were provocative it’d be some sort invitation to look up her skirt, but the fact it wasn’t in this particular case makes this story all the odder.

There are some female golfers who really embrace being ogled by men. Paige Spiranac has been very open with how she feels about men looking at her breasts. So if Giuliani or anyone else wants to gawk at a female golfer, there’s other consenting options out there for them. That makes the decision to randomly objectify Wie like this for no reason at all even more bizarre.
