Red Bull is set to bring a MAJOR upgrade to the Hungarian GP

July 2024 · 2 minute read

Red Bull Racing is undoubtedly the team to beat in 2023. The Milton Keynes-based team has dominated F1 since the new ground-effect regulations were introduced in 2022. Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez have won all the races this season, with Verstappen bagging a staggering eight victories. Now, Red Bull is set to increase its advantage at the Hungarian GP further.

As per reports, Milton Keynes will introduce a big upgrade package to the dominant RB-19 at the Hungaroring. These upgrades are expected to make the car two-tenths quicker, as per the team data. Moreover, this new package will focus on the side pods of Red Bull—an area where rivals have already tried to take inspiration from the reigning world champions.

A Red Bull team member claimed that the upgrades would make the RB-19 even more visually appealing. As such, fans would be treated with a ‘stunning’ car at the Hungarian GP. Notably, it is said that Milton Keynes will not abandon the development of this year’s car before the summer break as the team plans to bring in more upgrades throughout the season.

Max Verstappen to be unstoppable in Hungary?

Verstappen has remained unchallenged in the last few rounds of the season with six back-to-back race wins. The Dutch driver has capitalized massively on the incredibly quick RB-19. The Adrian Newey-designed car has come out on top this season with a huge lead over its rivals. The Hungarian GP upgrades will further solidify the team’s pace advantage.

This would certainly hamper the prospects of other teams on the grid. In the past few rounds, Mercedes, Ferrari, and McLaren brought significant upgrades to catch up with Red Bull. However, it seems that there will be even more work left to be done for the rivals of the Milton Keynes-based team if they truly want to fight for a race victory.

Thus, Red Bull has continued to work extensively on the RB-19 this season. The Hungarian GP package will bring a much-needed boost to Milton Keynes amidst rivals slowly closing up the pace deficit. As such, Max Verstappen fans would be delighted to see an even more appealing RB-19 hit the track at the Hungaroring next week.
