Formula 1 drivers have one of the most demanding jobs for sportspersons. As such, the drivers are even treated to some fun activities outside of racing. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez got one such opportunity recently, with the pair playing a game of football on a rooftop for a video on the Formula 1 Youtube channel.

A clip surfaced on Twitter where Verstappen and Perez were enjoying their time on a sunny day with the filming crew. Max Verstappen took a shot at the ball and kicked it off the terrace. The two-time world champion was impressed by his shot as the football went far off in the distance. The 25-year-old even wondered if the ball incurred damage on the ground. He said, “I think I hit a car.”

The Dutch driver looked for the ball from the terrace along with his teammate. Unfortunately, the two drivers failed to spot the ball. The F1 crew notified Verstappen and Perez that there was no backup football available. Subsequently, this exciting game had to end prematurely. Although, it is evident that both drivers enjoyed this fun activity.

Max Verstappen and Red Bull continue to dominate in 2023

The two-time world champion is having an exciting time on the track as well. Verstappen has won ten of the twelve rounds of the 2023 season so far. The Dutch driver is now even close to matching Sebastian Vettel‘s record of nine consecutive races at the next race at Zandvoort. On the other hand, Sergio Perez has won the two remaining races this year to ensure that Red Bull remains undefeated.

The Milton Keynes-based team has continued to bring in upgrades throughout the season. Red Bull’s major upgrades at the Hungarian GP shocked the paddocks as the RB-19 broke cover with an even more advanced sidepod concept. As such, it will take rivals a long time to truly come close to challenging Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.

Thus, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez took a break from Formula 1. The two drivers got the chance to have some fun and play football for a change. Although, Verstappen’s impressive kick forced the game to end earlier than planned. Fans would be hoping to see the Red Bull pairing play another sport.
